Could you do this via wato? Wato -> Parameters for Inventorized checks -> Number of mails in outgoing mail queue?

Subject: [Check_mk (english)] How do I set a per host limit for postfix_mailq?

I just installed check_mk, and trying to figure out how to configure the postfix_mailq length limit for a particular host.

`check_mk -M postfix_mailq` mentions the configuration variables postfix_mailq_default_levels=(10,20), and if I set this global variable it does indeed change the value.

I have reviewed
<http://mathias-kettner.de/checkmk_check_parameters.html>, and I gather that I am interested in the 2nd option "If the check has been created by inventory, then the rules in check_parameters are applied (see below)." Not sure how to configure that though with these variations attempted without any affect:

( (100, 200), [ "s2" ], [ "length" ]),
( (100, 200), [ "s2" ], [ "postfix_mailq_length" ]), ( (100, 200), [ "s2" ], [ "postfix_mailq_default_levels" ]),

Someone on irc suggest that I emulate the format in lib/check_mk/autochecks/postfix_mailq which looks like this:

("s2.leadkarma.com", "postfix_mailq", None, postfix_mailq_default_levels)

so I tried:

("s2", "postfix_mailq", None, (100,200)) ((100,200), [ "s2" ], ALL_HOSTS, ["postfix_mailq"]) ((100,200), [ "s2" ], ["postfix_mailq"])

but I don't think it has any effect as `check_mk -pv s2` still shows "length=123;10;20;;"

I also looked through the recent mail archives, and did not see anything obvious.
